In becoming a member, you covenant to:

      Personal examination
      (Psalm 139:23, 24; I Cor. 11:27)
      Mutual submission
      (Ephesians 5:21; Hebrews 13:17)
      Scriptural confrontation
      (1 Tim. 5:1, 2; Matt. 18:15-20)
      Beneficial conversation
      (Ephesians 4:29; Colossians 4:6)
  • Pursue the strategy of the church by making it:

      (Jeremiah 9:23,24; Phil. 3:10)
      My priority to live Christ
      (Colossians 1:10; 1 John 2:6)

Come to the Classes

  • Session 1: Our Salvation…
    Determines Our Destiny.
Can you say for certain that if you were to die today you would go to heaven? Why should God let you into heaven? This class will enable you to be sure of your eternal destiny and understand that baptism portrays your identification with Christ and communion proclaims your commemoration of Christ.
  • Session 2: Our Statements…
    Defines Our Authority.
It’s crucial that each member know and understand what our church believes and why. In order for us as a body to “attain to the unity of the faith” (Ephesians 4:13), we must understand the church’s doctrinal position. This class will help you to understand the basic, fundamental truths one must affirm in order to effectively fellowship and serve within the body.
  • Session 3: Our Strategy…
    Describes Our Ministry.
Every effective church has a strategy and a philosophy of ministry. Every function, action and decision of Christ Community Church has a scriptural foundation. In order for the body to function with one heart and mind, it is crucial for every member to understand our strategy as a church.
  • Session 4: Our Structure…
    Delineates Our Responsibility.
God designed the church to function in two equal yet distinct areas: leadership and membership. In order for the church to operate properly, each individual must understand the scriptural prescription for church structure, leadership and the exercising of giftedness. This class will answer important questions regarding the qualifications and appointment of those who lead and the responsibility of the membership of Christ Community Church.

Proceed with the Process

    1. Indicate your desire to explore membership by calling the church office at (626) 960-4444.
    2. Attend all four sessions listed above.
    3. Return your completed membership application and spiritual gifts inventory.
After you have completed these steps, an elder will meet with you to finalize your membership. Your name will then be brought before the elder board for recommendation at the next regularly scheduled elder meeting. You will be welcomed as a new member at our next communion service.

A Personal Note from the Pastor

Thank you for your interest and involvement in Christ Community Church. It is my privilege to serve with you in God’s ministry here. You may have been attending CCC for some time or perhaps for just a little while; in either case, you’re now interested in making a more permanent commitment to this body through membership.

You’re doing a good thing! You see, just as God has created each of our human organs to be an active, functioning member of our physical body, so every Christian is created by God to be an active, functioning member of a local church body. With this principle in mind, I invite you to explore uniting with Christ Community-a Bible-based, Christ-centered church where you will have every opportunity to grow and glorify God.

Take some time, read through the brochure, orient yourself with the process and get started! As you pursue this opportunity, I would encourage you to listen to our two-tape series titled “Church Membership: Meaningless or Meaningful” in order to gain an idea of what the Bible says about membership (available at our Tape Center or by calling the church office). If you should have any questions along the way, our elders and office staff will be happy to assist you at anytime.

Being a part of Christ Community Church is a challenging, exciting, God-glorifying and life-changing adventure. Don’t miss it!
